Please understand that the reports we ask you to fill out are required by NYS Dept. of Education, and other funders.  We cannot exist without your reports. PLEASE CLICK HERE TO FILL OUT YOUR REPORT

Student Testing

It is also important that your student be re-tested regularly so we can monitor progress, or identify a problem. Please call our office to schedule an assessment if you haven’t recently.

Below are some online sources we use to find worksheets, lesson plans, and ideas for working with adult learners.  We hope you will find them useful.  If you find additional websites with great resources, please share them with us!

Basic Readers

Newsela – Leveled reading on various topics

iSLCOLLECTIVE – Thousands of worksheets, searchable by level and topic.  Excellent resource for grammar-related material

IXL – All manner of content (math, science, history, English), aimed at K-12 but may work well for adult learners

eReading Worksheets – Free worksheets that address the subskills which medium-level Basic Readers and high-level English Language Learners need for improving reading comprehension.  Even though the site is aimed at K-12, the worksheets are great for adult learners.  Skip the colorful grade level buttons and go to the far right side of the home page where you can scan down the list of subskills (main idea, fact vs. opinion, making inferences, drawing conclusions, etc.)  Once you click into individual worksheets, you can print or send by email.

The 6 Syllable Types – PDF doc describing the 6 types of syllables, with activity worksheets.  For teaching phonics to basic readers.
