DESCRIPTION:Join us to find out what it’s like to be a volunteer with Literacy Connections! \nWe’ll give you an overview of our history\, the issue of illiteracy\, and points to remember when working with adults who cannot read. Our most pressing current volunteer needs are tutors (to work one-on-one with basic readers or English language learners) and small-group teachers (for English language learners). You don’t have to be a teacher already to volunteer – we will provide training. And there are other ways to help us promote literacy if teaching isn’t your thing. Please join us in helping people to read\, write\, and reach their potential!
